SHOP POLICIES - FAQ

Some boring, yet important info.  If you have any other questions, check out my About section or feel free to contact me.

SHIPPING

How long does shipping take?

I ship out most orders within 1-3 business days through USPS.  When sent, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email that includes a tracking number.  Depending on the type of shipping chosen, your order will arrive within 2-5 business days.  If you have an exceptionally large order, there may be longer wait times.  Please reach out to me if making an order intended for large gatherings or businesses.

How much does it cost to ship?

Shipping expenses vary wildly depending on size, number of pieces ordered, and distance from Pittsburgh.  As an example, it is normal for one mug to range between about $6.80 - $13, depending on location.  I've done my best to calculate shipping costs properly to give discounts the more pieces are ordered at one time, but if your shipping costs seem unusually high, plus feel free to contact me.  Sometimes, the automatic shipping calculator through my website is not always accurate and I may be able to adjust the price to the proper amount.

Express shipping can be added for an additional cost.

I gave the wrong address!  Can I change it?

I'm happy to change your address as long you reach out to me before I ship it out.  I like to get orders out the door quickly, which means about a 12-hour window after you've placed your order that I can fix it for you.  Once you've received a delivery confirmation email and tracking number, I cannot change your address.  The buyer is responsible for all reshipping costs if I am not contacted before shipping out the order. 

 

Also, if the item is sent to the wrong address, I can only send it back out once it has been returned to me.  This process can take a while.  If you need your order faster, then please place a second order.  Once the original package has been returned and inspected for damage, I'm happy to refund the price of the original purchase.  I do not offer refunds for shipping costs or returns that have been damaged. 

 

If you do not want to place a second order as a replacement or pay for reshipping, I will gladly refund the price of the item itself once it is returned to me and inspected for damages.

What happens if my order arrives broken?

Oh no!  I do my absolute best to ensure safe travel, but if your order arrives broken, please email me a photo of your broken item at the time of delivery or as soon as possible.  I'm happy to resend a new one completely free of charge.  

How do you package your pots?

Each piece is wrapped carefully in at least one layer of bubble wrap and protected with packing peanuts within a small box.  For some pieces, the small box is then placed within a larger box and surrounded by a second layer of packing peanuts or paper.  "Fragile" labels are marked clearly on multiple sides of the outer box.  Orders with multiple pieces have cardboard inserts in between the individual pieces to add extra protection.

RETURN POLICY

Do you accept returns?

Yes - with the exception of custom orders, personalized orders, and items on sale  

Please contact me within 7 days of delivery

Ship items back to me within 21 days of delivery

Items are only eligible for return if they are unused, in the same packaging, and in the same condition that you received it.

Important: The buyer is responsible for the initial costs of delivery and the return shipping costs.  In other words, I'm happy to refund the price of the item itself, but not the shipping costs.  If the item is damaged upon return, the buyer is responsible for any loss of value.

Can I cancel my order?

I offer a 100% refund guarantee if you reach out to me and cancel your order before the item is shipped out.  I like to get orders out the door quickly, which means about a 12-hour window after you've placed your order that I can ensure a smooth cancellation. 

If the item has already been shipped, I cannot cancel it.  

Refunds should be deposited back to your original method of payment within 30 business days after cancellation.

CUSTOM ORDERS

Can I commission a custom order?

Yes!  I accept custom orders.  I am also happy to personalize orders for any of my regular offerings.  As a general rule, custom/personalized orders are more expensive than my normal work and can take 2-6 weeks to produce, depending on specifics.  Please contact me to chat about what you'd like.  

Please be aware: I do not offer returns, exchanges, or cancellations for custom orders.  I will not begin work until payment has been processed and accepted.

Can I make a large order for a business or large social event?

I'd love to work with you on bigger orders!  Please contact me with the specifics of what you're looking for.   

Do you take pre-orders?

I do take pre-orders for specific listings.  If pre-orders are available within the shop, the listing will be labelled with a special "Pre-Order Now" banner.  Wait times could be up to 6-8 weeks, depending on the item.  

MISCELLANEOUS

How do I take care of my pottery?

All of my wares are dishwasher and microwave safe.  Despite being strong and resilient, they are not shatter-proof.  If dropped, they may break, so handle pieces carefully.  Avoid placing pieces in extreme temperature fluctuations, such as the oven, freezer, or open flame.  This can cause thermal shock and break your pottery over time. 

 

Also, be aware that ceramic transfers heat easily.  Hot beverages and microwaves will make pottery potentially very hot.  Please handle with care.

Can you gift wrap my order?

I do not offer gift wrapping, but I can include a small hand-written gift message!  Just leave a note in the message field during check out of what you'd like.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept most forms of payment, including but not limited to:

Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Apple Pay, PayPal, Amex, and more

Does your pottery have lead?

No.  My pots are 100% lead-free and are food/drink safe.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes!  I offer gift cards here within the shop.

Anything else I should know?

Each piece is 100% handmade - which means each one is completely unique!  There may be slight differences in glaze, form, size, and weight.  Photos on each listing are examples of my craftsmanship and I endeavor to make each piece to the best of my ability, but no two will ever be the same.  If you are looking for matching sets, please be aware that I cannot offer completely identical matching pieces due to this variation.
